CAMP - Childish Gambino
npr:
There’s no denying that Glover’s sound is unique: He can vibe to a romantic melody with live strings and piano in one song, then follow it up with a song heavy on bass and fire-alarm sounds. If there’s one comparison that jumps to mind, it’s Kanye West circa The College Dropout: not the media-baiting megastar we know today, but the insecure guy from a middle-class family who sounded grateful just to be alive.
As soon as I read this comparison it clicked. Maybe the connection isn’t to strong but I definitely like the connection and what I’m hearing on Camp. Please click this link and check out the music as well as the article on npr. Childish Gambino is awesome. Give it a listen. Favorite new rapper I’ve listened to of 2011.
This just made my night. The last track is particularly entertaining. I can’t wait to download it for real.
